Access to the CargoCities

The CargoCities can be reached around the clock by car, truck, bus, and rail. The registration process depends on which CargoCity is to be accessed: For the easiest-possible access to CargoCity South, register in advance using the Click-2-drive system – unless you have an airport ID or entry permit. Contactless entry then takes place via Gates 31 and 32, using license plate recognition.

  • For access to the Lufthansa Cargo Center, registration takes place at Gate 25.

From the A3 motorway
From the A3 motorway, take the Basel/Darmstadt exit on to the A5.

From the A5 motorway
The easiest way to reach CargoCity South is to use the A5 exit marked ‘Cargo City Süd’ (exit number 23 in both north/south directions). After leaving the motorway, follow the signs towards CargoCity South. You’ll reach Gate 32 after approximately 1.5 kilometers.

From the A3 motorway
From the A3 motorway the signs towards B43, Frankfurt Airport.   When you are on the B43 road, follow the signs for the Cargo Center. Take the Cargo Center exit and then turn right on to the Airportring road, towards Gates 23-31. After approximately two kilometers, Gate 26 will be on the left-hand side.

From the A5 motorway
Leave the A5 motorway and take B43 towards Frankfurt Airport. On the B43 road, follow the signage towards Cargo Center. Take the Cargo Center exit and then turn right on to the Airportring road, towards Gates 23-31. After approximately two kilometers, Gate 26 will be on the left-hand side.

From the B43 road:
Follow the signs towards Frankfurt Airport, Cargo Center Take the Cargo Center exit and then turn right on to the Airportring road, towards Gates 23-31. After approximately two kilometers, Gate 26 will be on the left-hand side.

The airport has two train stations that connect the airport with both local (RE/S8/S9)  and international (IC/ICE) rail networks. Both train stations are very close to Terminal 1.

If you come by plane, train, or bus, you’ll find the bus station opposite the arrivals level C of Terminal 1. Shuttle buses operate in the stop area 10-13 (“Terminal 1 Ost”) to take you to the CargoCities.

CargoCity North can be reached using the WEST bus route. Download timetable  (in German).

CargoCity South can be reached on weekdays using the CCS bus route (download timetable  in German) and at the weekend with the OST bus route to building 543 (download timetable  in German).

Access to Fraport’s operational areas is permitted only with a valid airport ID. Day permits can be issued if necessary by the visitor registration point at the appropriate access gate.

If your company does not participate in the staff bus invoicing system, you can purchase daily and monthly tickets to use the bus services via the online shop:  personalbustickets.frankfurt-airport.de. A day pass costs €2.24, and a monthly ticket costs €47.01

In addition to the staff buses, CargoCity South can also be accessed using the public bus routes X18 (towards Walldorf or Dietzenbach) and X77 (from the Frankfurt (Main) Süd/South railway station).  

Truck parking is available in CargoCity South in central locations for rest periods or waiting times. They are open around the clock and are equipped with modern sanitary facilities including showers.

A truck parking lot is located immediately behind Gate 31, with another directly behind Gate 32. For the common pre-check in registration procedure at Gate 32 (from xx.xx.2024), additional parking spaces are available in front of the gate. The first charging points for trucks will also enter service inside the parking lot at Gate 31 during 2024. Fraport AG’s parking management division allows companies based at the site to purchase discounted parking vouchers for the truck parking spaces These vouchers can then be passed on to drivers and suppliers.

Permanent leased parking spaces in the central truck parking lots at Gates 31 and 32 are available on request. For detailed quotes, interested parties can also contact  parken.frankfurt@fraport.de.

On each of the CargoCity sites, various public parking spaces are available that can be leased by companies and their employees who are based on site. Below is a list of the parking spaces and costs. The prices apply per month and parking card. Electric charging stations for cars are provided in the parking lot at Gate 32 in CargoCity South.
