LogisticsHub West

Two-Step Development Process

As the operator of Frankfurt Airport and CargoHub Frankfurt, Fraport supports the growth of cargo traffic. The expansion of capacities for cargo-friendly handling is coming from the development of existing space.

The vision is for a new LogisticsHub West that draws on sustainable, digitized, and smart infrastructure to gradually emerge on the former Ticona site.

In the first stage, shipping facilities are planned to be built in two rows on a space totaling 250,000 square meters, along with operational facilities across 70,000 square meters. By developing this space, Fraport AG is creating the necessary cargo capacities for the forecast demand of the years to come, providing the cargo community with room to grow sustainably over the medium and long-term.

Due to its vicinity to the Northwest Runway, the location also offers the potential for an airside connection to the airport site. With its proximity to roads and railroad tracks, the area could also be potentially expanded into a trimodal hub with a CT (Combined Transport) terminal by an external project sponsor. Fraport is watching very closely how needs develop, in order to ensure the Frankfurt CargoHub is future-proofed.
